About Random Talker

Last updated

Random Talker is a free, anonymous, voice-only chat app for talking to a random stranger anywhere in the world — no camera, no signup, no download.

Why voice-only

Most random-chat apps default to video, which means the moment you connect you're on camera in front of a stranger — that's exactly the exposure that made earlier platforms like Omegle a safety problem for a lot of people. We built Random Talker voice-only on purpose: you get the same spontaneity of meeting someone new, without a webcam feed either of you has to worry about. Read more in our anonymous voice chat guide.

Who it's for

  • People practicing a language who want real conversation instead of an app drilling flashcards.
  • People who are bored at 2am and just want to talk to someone.
  • People who'd rather have a genuine conversation than scroll another feed.

No profiles, no matching algorithm based on your data — just press start and you're talking to someone.

Games during a call

Not every conversation needs a topic. During a call you can start a game of UNO, Ludo, Battleship, Tetris or Sudoku with the person you're talking to, and keep talking while you play. The games are free, and you can also play them on your own. See how games work in a call.

How we keep it safe

  • Calls are peer-to-peer, encrypted with DTLS-SRTP, and never recorded or stored.
  • You can skip to a new conversation instantly, no explanation needed.
  • One-tap reporting in any active call — reports are reviewed and acted on.
  • 18+ only. One "Underage user" report restricts that person straight away, until our team confirms the ban or lifts it.
  • No camera, ever — voice-only isn't a mode, it's the whole product.

See our safety page for how reporting works and monthly report and ban numbers.
